PoE switches

A PoE switch powers the devices it connects, over the same cable that carries their data, so a camera, an access point, or a phone can sit where no power outlet exists, as long as an Ethernet cable reaches it. PoE suits security installations, wireless networks, and voice networks, where devices are mounted on ceilings, walls, or poles, and where running a power cable to each device would cost more than the device itself.
